The Memphis Regional Children’s Health Project (MRCHP) provides services to rural West Tennessee children and families.

The MRCHP’s mobile medical and health education clinic offers preventive health education, and links children to other appropriate medical services. Despite their close proximity to a hospital system, children and their families often face many challenges accessing healthcare. These include a lack of transportation, health insurance, and a limited knowledge of available resources. Children in these communities are frequently treated for chronic asthma, diabetes, obesity, elevated blood pressure, and elevated lead levels.

MRCHP aims to decrease emergency room visits by bringing comprehensive primary care directly to the community. As part of that effort, it also educates families about the importance of an ongoing relationship with a primary care provider.
